The course provides you with a holistic approach to caring for the older people within the community. It is designed to equip you to provide physical and social support to elderly individuals and people with a psychological disability in hostels, group homes and community settings. In this course students will develop a strong practical focus in aged care and will be taught the basic skills and competencies required to enter and work in the aged care sector. There is a vocational placement component to this certificate which will allow the students to use the skills and knowledge learnt in the classroom in a work environment, giving students practical hands on experience in the aged care industry.
